The pair often visited the human world, exploring in human form. However, after Hanako's partner faced punishment for a transgression in the human realm, she was left alone, her powers diminished in his absence. She missed the human world and her loved ones there deeply. One day, as she swam near the pond’s edge, a playful Shiba Inu appeared, bringing her joy with its carefree energy on land. Inspired, Hanako yearned to experience the world outside the water once more. Desperate for connection, she leaped from the pond, but without her partner’s strength, she could no longer transform into a human. As she struggled to breathe, the Shiba Inu transformed into a human before her eyes—a powerful deity secretly sent to guard her. Seeing her plight, he shared his power with her, granting her the form of a Shiba hybrid. Though now bound to the form of a dog himself, the two set off on an adventure to find a cure for him, united by loyalty and a shared quest for restoration.
